Italian Senator Lucio Barani, of the Liberal Popular Alliance Bloc, said “Whoever killed the Italian Student Regeni in this coward and disgraceful manner, this Stubbornness and brutality and all this torture that he had suffered, we are convinced that they are highly organized and ready to do anything”.
Barani continued during his meeting with Mohamed Abou El Enein, honorary president of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliament and president of the Egyptian-European Council: “Surely, this organization established a complicated security network so as no one could reach any actual or logical solution, they are highly organized”
He added “the actual case that we are currently facing is to understand what happened exactly, and this is what our Minister of Foreign Affairs, who has always held respect to president Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi and Egyptian people, should work on. We admit that we have a third authority, judiciary, which enjoys independency and it has to do its job, but according to what’s provided to it, you for sure have independent judiciary and through your constitution you can do your own job”.
Barani continued: “I am convinced that we reach a common ground, because what’s important is not sharing the information which actually became a goal itself, even if all the available informations were shared, what’s important is to know who is concerned with spoiling the Italian-Egyptian relations, whether culturally, economicaly, socially or politicaly, because who killed Regeni is an enemy of Egyptians, president Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, Italian people and the Italian Prime Minister Renzi”.
Barani explained that ”other Italians these days were murdered in Geneva, Switzerland, but this wasn’t accompanied by a propaganda as Regeni’s case, although murder and death are the same every where, and whoever did this was a homeless person who wanted to steal, however this wasn’t only about stealing but it had other economic goals aiming to spoil the relations between the two countries; that’s why the country is concerned with Regeni’s case and above all it’s a human life and it affected economic, cultural and touristic relations between two countries, that’s why I think it’s a loss for both countries.
