The number of MPs who voted for the deputy positions was 568.
Abou El-Enein won a total of 412 votes, meanwhile, Saad Al-Din got 485 votes.
Other candidates for the post included Suleiman Wahdan (125 votes), Farida El Shobashi (71 votes), Hanan Abdel Moneim (6 votes), Muhammad Abdulaziz (75 votes), Sahar Bashir Maatouk (5 votes) and Muhammad al-Jabalawi (11 votes).
Notably, Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court Chancellor Hanafy Ali El Gebali was elected, Tuesday as the new Speaker of Egypt’s House of representatives.
Other three candidates competed Gebali for the Speaker’s post, included former official at the Administrative Control Authority Mohamed Salah Abou Hemela, Medical doctor Ahmed Abdel Hakim Youssef Darag and Mohamed Medina, member of Al Wafd Party.
Members of the parliament cast their ballots electing the new speaker during the inaugural session of Parliament 2021, which was headed by Farida Shobashi as the oldest member. She is also the first woman to chair the opening session of the House of Representatives.
Abou El-Enein’s Biography
Mohamed M. Abou El Enein was born on September 5, 1951. He is an Egyptian businessman, investor, public figure and politician.
He is the chairman and founder of Cleopatra Group and the founder of many major projects spread all over Egypt. He has been a Member of Parliament for over 15 years, from 1995 to 2011, being chosen as the Chairman of many Committees and as a representative in many international assemblies.
He won several international awards and certificates of honor for his contribution to the various fields of business.
Abou El Enein’s business ventures were diversified to include the areas of agriculture, mining, real estate, tourism, media, high-tech projects and aviation (Abou El Enein is also a certified pilot).
