The conference is held under the theme of “The Egyptian Economy… Achievements and Challenges in Light of the Coronavirus Pandemic”.
Aboul Enein chaired the “Attracting investments… Reality and Ambition” session.
The session was attended by Hisham Tawfik, Minister of Public Business Sector, Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, Elsayed Al Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, Khaled Abu Al-Makarem, Chairman of the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers, Amr Nour Eldin, Advisor to the Executive President of the Investment Authority (GAFI), and Mohamed El-Masry, Vice President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC).
Addressing the session, Aboul Enein hailed the recent laws issued by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Nevin Gamea, which encourage small and medium enterprises as well as her efforts to attract investment.
He said that all new laws and industry laws’ amendments have contributed to attracting investments, explaining that all previous plans that took decades to no avail are currently being implemented by a strong will on the ground.
Aboul-Enein pointed out that the main goal of the industry at the present time is to launch unconventional ambitions that require an excellent infrastructure, praising Lieutenant General Kamel al-Wazer, Transport Minister’s key role in the construction and building field in Egypt.
He pointed out that the political leadership’s precise supervision, the presence of ambitious visions, were ‘the secret behind this notable success.’
In addition, Aboul Enein pointed out that there is a huge market for African and Arab countries, adding that Egypt has signed several bilateral deals that “bring us together with the countries of the world.”“Storming the fourth industrial revolution is a great challenge, it places a great responsibility on everyone, not only the government,” he said.
Aboul Enein added, “Today we are facing a great challenge, everyone is talking about the ordeal that has befallen the world, which is the Coronavirus pandemic, but the real challenge lies in how to convert this ordeal into a grant.”
He also wondered, “How we can create visions and a new future… how can we address investment minds.”
