Egyptian parliament deputy speaker MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein received a European Delegation headed by Thierry Mariani, a member of the European Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee and Jerome Revere, head of the French parliamentary bloc in European Parliament, Virginia Gurun, a member of the General Budget Parliamentary Committee.
During the talks, Abou El-Enein briefed the European Parliament delegation on the problems experienced by Egypt during the Muslim Brotherhood (MB)’s rule and its followers’ siege of the Media Production City and the Supreme Constitutional Court.
He confirmed that Egypt has gone through difficult times, during which, the MB terrorist group put the lives of Egyptians in danger; according to TV anchor Ahmed Moussa’s statements during his talk show ‘Ala Masoulity’
He added that Abou El-Enein explained that Egypt has been witnessing a state of reconstruction, especially after getting rid of the MB rule in a marvelous revolution by the Egyptian people.
He also touched on the crisis of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), stressing that Egypt only wants to get its historical share in the Nile River.
The prominent businessman talked about the current development projects being implemented in the country, notably, the new administrative capital.
He stressed the importance of the establishment of the new administrative capital, and many other urban communities, which have led to the expansion of residential areas from 7% to 14%.
With regard to the situation in Libya, Abou El-Enein denounced the presence of armed militias on Libyan soil, which threatens Europe itself, warning of the repercussions of delaying the coming presidential elections scheduled for this month.
He affirmed that Egypt provided all kinds of support to neighboring Libya in order to maintain its stability and sovereignty.
