The Egyptian-European Business Council, headed by Mohamed Abou El-Enein , lauded on Wednesday the British government’s decision to lift the ban on direct flights to Sharm El-Sheikh.
In a statement, Abou Al-Enein, the prominent businessman, thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson for such great decision which came after prolonged talks, latest of which was during the G7 Summit, held in Biarritz in France as well as efforts exerted by UK Ambassador in Cairo Geoffrey Adams.
Abou Al-Enein added that the resumption of flights is a distinctive step in the close cooperation between Egypt and Britain and reflects the historical relations between the two countries, and gives a clear message to the world that Egypt is safe and stable, and reflects the true image of Egypt.
The safety, stability and security of tourists is a testament to the safety standards at the Egyptian airports and the great progress Egypt is witnessing in various fields during the era of President El-Sisi.
“The British tour operators will work on organizing trips and doubling not only the number of UK tourists to Egypt but also, the European tourists,” Abou Al-Enein pointed out.
“The British tourist has a great passion for Sharm El Sheikh,” he noted, saying that as the number of the British tourists in 2018 reached 415,000 despite the ban.
