Abou El-Enein: Regulating Blood Operations, Plasma Collection Represent National Security Issue

Parliament deputy speaker Mohamed Abou El-Enein stressed on Sunday the importance of issuing a law regulating blood operations and plasma collection for the manufacture and exportation of its derivatives.

During discussing a bill submitted by the government to issue a law regulating blood operations and plasma collection for the manufacture and exportation of its derivatives, within the plenary session of the parliament, Abou El-Enein said that the plasma represents a national security issue, and it means the introduction of a modern technology in Egypt to extract plasma from blood, explaining that the bill could achieve self-sufficiency.

He pointed out that Egypt always seeks to respect international rules and laws, noting that this is a basic principle and one of the goals of the law.

The Parliament deputy speaker called on the Minister of Health Dr. Hala Zayed to deliver a lecture on the importance of donating blood, how this serves the citizen, and how his body benefits from the periodic donation of blood.
