Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou El-Enein said that the discussions that took place in the parliament session on Tuesday, and the statements of representatives to the Minister of Petroleum confirm the deputies’ keenness and their sense of responsibility towards their constituency.
Abou El-Enein explained that these discussions do not diminish the efforts made by the Ministry of Petroleum, especially with regard to the field of exploration.
He pointed out that the summary of what is required is to deliver gas to homes and increase job appointments, saying: “The deputies have a right to ask so.”
The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed that the petroleum sector ranked first in investments, noting that it owns 74% of the total investments, in addition to that it represented 24% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
Abou El-Enein wondered about the relative weight of employment after this increase in investments in the petroleum sector, and continued: “It is time to open the door for the small investors.”
